Deb and I were invited by friends this weekend to go see the musical Big River. Turns out they had two extra tickets that would have gone to waste had we not gone.

The production was put on by Music Theatre of Wichita, and what a production it was. It was funny, poignant, and soulful. And man can those cats sing.

My favorite tunes were Guv’ment, Muddy Water, River in the Rain, Hand for the Hog, Arkansas and Free at Last.

My neighbors really enjoy fireworks. In fact, they enjoyed them until about 1 in the morning.

I went on a photowalk with a friend of mine last night at the Waterfront at 13th and Webb. Here are a few of my favorite shots.

Just playing around with strobes, gels, etc. Wesley insisted on posing with his hand partially up. Why? Heck, I don’t know. Since he’s only gonna be five years old for a few more days, I guess it’s kind of fitting.

I’ve got a bunch of topics I’ve been meaning to blog about, just not enough time to write ‘em. I promise I’m gonna put up some new content soon. Here’s a sneak peak at just a few of the topics I’m cooking up:

  • Telephone laziness
  • Now with Xylitol!
  • A fitting memorial?
  • I’m qualified to be president
  • The case of the mysteriously vanishing lawn clippings

I took my family to a Wichita Wingnuts ball game last night. They had a cool fireworks show after the game. Here are two photos I took of the firey display. These are best viewed big.
