I’ve investigated Tom’s report left as a comment on my previous post that T-Mobile is blocking access to Twitter, and it certainly appears to be true. The “Service is temporarily down. Please try again later” message I’ve been getting when I try to use Twitter is apparently only coming back to T-Mobile customers. I’d assumed the message had come from Twitter, but it is now quite evident that it’s being sent by T-Mobile. I’ve found several other sites and blogs that are also reporting T-Mobile is blocking access to Twitter. I don’t understand this business decision. Twitter is the reason I upgraded to unlimited texting. That’s $360 extra I’m paying T-Mobile over the course of two years. I would speculate that scores of customers are paying for unlimited texting because of Twitter. T-Mobile stands to lose tons of revenue if this decision is not quickly reversed. I’m gonna wait and see what happens before I make any rash decisions about canceling services or changing providers.

I’ve sent the T-Mobile CEO an email about this, like it will do any good. “Mongo just pawn in game of life”.
